happy halloween!

Happy Halloween to you all! Just stopping in to say HI and hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday!
These are a couple more of the huge batch of Halloween cards that I made a while back to send to friends and family. I love the spiderweb patterned paper! I added silver stickles to the center of the webs, it looks really cute in real life!
Enjoy this beautiful Fall holiday!

soaring by.

Hello, people! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. Mine went by much too quickly, of course!
Here's a card that I created a very long time ago and just never got around to posting it.
I still am not in love with it. It was my first use of Bird Watching Additions from PTI. But it's cute enough.
I really do have way too many cards just sitting around my craft cave. I need to start mailing out a few every couple days or so just to get through the whole bunch!

Well, hope everyone has a great start to the week!

told you there were more...

Hello again! Here is that card I promised. It's one of the bajillion that I made with this layout. But it will be the last one that I post here. Promise!
I really like these colors together. One of the papers is October Afternoon, one is PTI, and the other two are just from my scrap bag. It's so full.... I need to find another layout that will use up some of those scraps!

another post? so soon?!

Yes! I AM back with another post and no, it hasn't been a whole month since the last post! Shocking, yes, I know! :)
This is a super quick card that is a great way to use up those scraps! I was inspired by a card in the holiday issue of Papercrafts. Then put my own spin on it and here it is!
I think I've made a bajillion of these in different colors and with different sentiments. I'm sure I'll be posting more soon! :)

Halloweenie Time!

Hey everyone! I've been such a bad blogger lately. Life has been crazy and busy, as I'm sure everyone can relate to! Here are just a few of the bazillion different Halloween cards I made.
I just love Halloween and Autumn and all things orange! Haha :)
Each card is just a little bit different. But they were so quick and easy to make! I cheated and got a patterned paper from my local scrapbooking store that had all these cute little circle images on it. I just cut them all out and made little tags.
The tags I adhered to the card fronts on top of some other fun patterned papers. Just embellished each a teensy bit differently and VIOLA! All done!
Hope you all are in a fun Halloween kind of mood now! Let's eat candy! :)

mini missing you.

Hey again! This card is a mini at 2.75 x 4 inches but it packs a cute, little punch.
All the paper and stamps are from Papertrey Ink. I really like the color combo of Simply Chartreuse, Plum Pudding, and Kraft.

christmas in sept.

Hello, blog world! Here are two Christmas cards that were publishing rejects:
This first one is very simple. Heat embossing on Scarlet Jewel cardstock and some simple half circles sewn on the side. Not my favorite so no biggie that it didn't make the cut.
This second one though I really like. The colors are fun and different for a Christmas card. That patterned paper is from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop line. (Still in love with that whole line!) The stamp is a wooden one and it took many, many tries to get it lined up perfectly. I love the impression rubber gives but clear stamps are SO much easier to line up!

That's all I have for today. Hope everyone had a safe and fun Labor Day! Onto the rest of the month!

flower power.

Hey again! Take a look at this fun little flower that I made with some thrift store lace and patterned paper. I just looped the lace across the back and taped it into place. Super easy and it looks like petals! This is a skinny little 3x5.5 card so it will still fit in a standard A2 envelope.

Hope you like this super quick and easy little number!

thinking of you.

Here's one of my new favorite color combos. It's Scarlet Jewel, yellow, gray and teal. Sounds random, I know, but I just love how it all came together on this card. The patterned paper is October Afternoon and I stitched a border around it after I stamped the flourish in black on the left side. The frame and sentiment is PTI's Fillable Frames. My favorite one!

roses.

Hey all! I know it's been forever since I've been around. Busy with life!
But here's a card I made a while back and wanted to share with you. The rose is stamped and embossed in white and looks gorgeous in person. The three leaves are stamped in green onto white cardstock and also heat embossed. I found the lace at a thrift store for super cheap!

happy day.

Today's a happy day for me. So I figured I'd share this happy card with you.

The stamps are from Papertrey and are heat embossed. It looks gorgeous in person. That cute patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye. Added some sewing for an extra detail.
I like that this card packs a punch but is still pretty flat for mailing.

That's it for me today. Short and sweet.

clean and simple chick.

Hey all! Here's a cute and super easy little mini card that I made recently. This chickie transparency is actually from a stamp that I found. But when I went to stamp the chick it wouldn't stamp right! Sad, I know. It was all.... blotchy no matter how many times I tried it. Different paper, different blocks, different inks.... nothing worked.

But! Good news is I didn't pay very much for it AND I used the acetate sheet that it came on to make this adorable little card.

The patterned paper is October Afternoon's Thrift Shop line and the sentiment is Papertrey. I'll be linking this card up to the Moxie Fab Challenge as well.

hey friends.

Hey guys! Talk about a long break from blogging. Here's a little card that was rejected for publication. But I think it's pretty cute so I'm sharing with you!

That tan patterned paper is from PTI's new Library Ledger pack. I just got it a couple weeks ago and I'm really loving the soft patterns.

Anyway, hope the week is going well for everyone! I decided to link up to the Moxie Fab Challenge. We'll see how that goes :)

thrift store.

Hey again. I'm giving fair warning that I am ADDICTED to October Afternoon's new Thrift Store line. Seriously love all the papers. So be prepared for quite a few cards sporting these fun patterns.
The first one is a cutie with a little lace scrap. It's sort of a new step in a different style direction for me but it is always fun to try something new.
I love the mish-mash of patterned paper on this second card. They are so different but they WORK. Like the sentiment says, it just makes me smile.

hello, summer.

Hey! It's practically the end of June and I am headed back to work tomorrow after a lovely week's vacation spent visiting family and friends up north, in Michigan. Ahh... not answering my phone all day, forgetting about work and sipping on drinks all day. It was bliss.
I made this card quite a while ago but just never got around to posting it. Well, here it is. In all it's ruffle ribboned glory. :)

Hope everyone is having an amazing summer. There's still more to come.

congrats, graduates!

Hello again! It's that time of year again... graduation season! I just love all the excitement and promise of it.
Here are a couple cards that I made for some girls at work who just recently took that giant step!
Very clean, simple and cute. Hopefully they like them. I for sure know the gift card inside will be liked! :) I wanted to use school colors for each of them but not make it look cheap and tacky. This is subtle school spirit!
I am, of course, still madly in love with Fillable Frames #3. And of course Mega Mixed Messages for always having the perfect sentiment!

Most of all though, I can not wait to celebrate my little brother Robbie's graduation with him. The hubby and I are heading up to Michigan in just a couple weeks to spend time with our families and congratulate Robbie in person! CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Have a great start to your week--

happy mother's day.

My husband and his mom. Goofballs that I love.
Myself, sister, Mom, 'little' brother in New Orleans. Love them all.

it needs to be glam.

That's what I was told when a friend requested a card made. "It needs to be glam." Just that and nothing else. So with that in mind:
This has glitter (completely covering the little heart), it has a ruffled ribbon piece (courtesy of Ashley Newell's tutorial), and of course rhinestones! There's also the subtle Versamark background and a damask patterned strip of paper.

I do have to say that this was my first time using Melon Berry and at first I was a bit stumped as to what colors to pair it with. I like it well enough on this card but looking at that whole sheet of a color that defies any explanations... eh, who knows.

Anyway, thanks so much for stopping by!

today.

Well it's not often that I make a card that I don't want to give away. Today's card is one of those. I am in absolute LOVE with this card and almost can't bear to part with it! Haha!

The patterned papers are all very cute and coordinated. There is simple sewing on the edges. I scalloped some pieces and rounded other corners. Then of course a vintage book print embellishment-- awesome! :) The circle was cut out with my Cricut and the faded image was stamped with Versamark and the sentiment on top of that. That font is just perfect!

Hope you've all enjoyed this card as much as I have. I'll be getting in the mail asap and off to a new special home!

mother's garden.

Hey, blog people! Today's card is a Mother's day card that I created for my mother-in-law. She is an avid gardener and an amazing landscape designer and this simple card is just perfect for her (if I do say so myself!)

The colors remind me of pretty little flowers and I love the vines and glitter for flower centers. Hoping she likes it just as much as I do!

fill my days with joy.

Hi again! Hope everyone is doing well! I haven't posted this often to my blog in way too long.
Here are two cards both using Bitty Dots patterned paper from PTI but they have completely different vibes. The first is light and fresh and folksy with that hand cut heart.
This second card is more distressed but at the same time has a clean and simple design layout.

all my love.

Hello again! Here are two very simple cards that I made on Sunday. They both use the same layout and I just changed up the colors a bit for the second one.
I can't remember where this great stamp is from, since I've had it for quite a while.

Have a great day!

celebrate.

Hello, blog world! I really should get better about posting more often! :)
This is a card that I made yesterday in a fit of creativity. I made six cards in about three hours! That's awesome for me... especially since they were almost all different layouts and such.
The card in the photo above is actually really cute. You'll just have to take my word for it since the picture didn't turn out well. But my little Abby-girl is in the picture and so I decided to keep it!
And a picture of little Frank too! Can't forget the little wiener dog!
Just wanted to finish off this (pretty much non-card) post with another shot of Abby Sue!

Hope you all had a great weekend! My Sunday was fabulous since the Hubby and I went out on a date! :)

pretty pinwheel.

Hello again! Today's card is a little different than my normal. I tried my hand at making a paper pinwheel to use as a focal point. Then I layered it on top of some vintage book print and added the very last scrap of my wrinkled ribbon.
The sentiment is (again!) from Fillable Frames #2. I'm gonna wear that thing out!

love birds.

How cute are these little birds?! I just bought Bird Watching Additions from PTI and I couldn't wait to make a love birds card.
I used a sentiment from Fillable Frames #2. Can't put that set down yet! For the focal point, I rounded the top corners, scored a couple lines, scalloped the bottom and added twine. Pretty simple. The most time consuming thing was cutting out the little birdies and even then, they aren't all that hard!

I just want to say how happy I am that I used up this floral patterned paper. I think I've literally had this thing for 3 years! It's just so UGLY unless practically covered up like it is here!! Hahaha! :)

an argyle attempt.

Does this count as argyle? Scored lines on a diagonal? Yeah... I don't really think so either.
Oh well, though. I did use the colors from the Papertrey Chicks very first challenge. And they were sort of a stretch for me; hibiscus burst, spring rain, and smokey shadow. I didn't know where in the world I was going to plop that hibiscus burst. A button (or three!) is always a safe bet!
I did get to use my new Fillable Frames #2 stamps. And they. are. GORGEOUS.
I don't have a Cuttlebug or anything so I hand cut the frame out but it was easy peasy. I stamped the sentiment and frame in Versamark and heat embossed them to make it stand out.

My smokey shadow card base looks a little brown due to my camera. Hmm...must fix that for next time!

Hope you're all having a fabulous weekend!

miss you.

This little card is a fun 3x4.25 size. It's tiny but cute.

Again, I used the wrinkled ribbon that I made. But now it's just about used up so I'll have to make some more soon, I guess.

Almost the weekend!

a new month.

Hello, blog world! It's already a new month. I swear, I feel like it should still be February!
Today's card incorporates so many things outside of my usual comfort zone. The wrinkled seam binding has been on blogs everywhere, like Michelle Wooderson's here. Then I used some vintage book print, again a la Mish, as seen here.
The seam binding was something that I picked up at Michael's a while back and then I wasn't sure what in the world I would do with it. Seeing all the wrinkled, vintage stuff got me inspired to make it myself. So I used tea to dye the aqua colored seam binding and scrunched it up. It turned out this great vintage-y greenish color. Love it!

I really like the way this card and ribbon turned out. It was a step outside my comfort zone but I'm pleasantly surprised with the results. I'll definitely be trying this again.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the springtime sunshine!

picture fest.

It's been a little while but I sure do have enough pictures to make up for it!
They all use the same layout; I just changed up the colors a little bit. And trust me... there are even more but I didn't want to bore you with a bunch of pictures of the same thing! (Five is enough as it is!) :)
Pretty simple instuctions: cut cardstock, score cardstock, cut circles, adhere circles, stitch circles, stamp sentiment, emboss.

The last one and the first one are my favorites. Hope you're week is going well!
