thrift store.

Hey again. I'm giving fair warning that I am ADDICTED to October Afternoon's new Thrift Store line. Seriously love all the papers. So be prepared for quite a few cards sporting these fun patterns.
The first one is a cutie with a little lace scrap. It's sort of a new step in a different style direction for me but it is always fun to try something new.
I love the mish-mash of patterned paper on this second card. They are so different but they WORK. Like the sentiment says, it just makes me smile.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

love birds.

How cute are these little birds?! I just bought Bird Watching Additions from PTI and I couldn't wait to make a love birds card.
I used a sentiment from Fillable Frames #2. Can't put that set down yet! For the focal point, I rounded the top corners, scored a couple lines, scalloped the bottom and added twine. Pretty simple. The most time consuming thing was cutting out the little birdies and even then, they aren't all that hard!

I just want to say how happy I am that I used up this floral patterned paper. I think I've literally had this thing for 3 years! It's just so UGLY unless practically covered up like it is here!! Hahaha! :)

miss you...

Here's another top folded card using berry sorbet cardstock. It's pretty simple: Cricut flowers, twine, heat embossed sentiment, add a button and that's about it.

sunny flower.

I think I'm in love with this flower. It's so sunny and sparkly that it just makes me happy to look at it. I'm getting this card in the mail asap for my little sister!
This is a new stamp set that I just got. I stamped the image and colored it in using an aqua pen and chalks. Then I added the glitter with a glue pen and cut the image out.

This was a quick and easy card that I hope you enjoy! Hope the week is starting off well for everyone.

Happy February!

Wow. February 1st already! Where has this year GONE?! I feel like it's still early December or something. Not that I'm complaining. I'm thrilled that it's 2010. I know this is going to be a year to remember.
For today's card I used spring moss to shake up the traditional valentines colors. The background paper is, of course, Anna Griffin. I seem to gravitate to her papers quite often.
This card has glitter, twine, buttons, rounded corners, and awesome patterned paper.
Hope you like it!

Mini Loaf of Love!

I've been on a baking kick lately. Making delicious chocolate covered macaroons, cutting out sugar cookies, baking brownies... it's non-stop! So today I wanted to share my baking with my coworkers and I decided to make banana nut bread in mini tins to give them!
I decided to put a Happy Thanksgiving sentiment on them because now that it is officially October, the holidays will be upon us before we know it!

I used this amaaaazing Betty Crocker recipe that calls for buttermilk. It's the secret ingredient that keeps the bread so moist and delicious! I doubled the recipe and came out with 12 mini loaves. I needed 8 for my coworkers and one for the neighbor so that left hubby and me with leftovers! Yessss!

I was browsing at Hobby Lobby today and found this patterned paper on clearance. I was really inspired by the fall colors... and of course it was on sale! I was also inspired by Dawn McVey's packaging idea found here. Pretty much everything she does inspires me but I just loved this quick and easy way she dressed up a loaf of yummy, homemade bread!

The sentiment is from Stamping Up and is stamped onto PTI cardstock. I used foam dimensionals to adhere the finished circle onto the paper strip. And of course I had to stamp a flourish or two in Versamark onto the cardstock. Then added the rustic jute twine, also from PTI, and it was complete!
I think I want to make zucchini nut bread next! Who knows though?! I could change my mind again tomorrow. What yummy things have you baked lately? Or are you planning on trying a new recipe soon?
I hope my coworkers like these! I'll let you know!

Christmas! It's Almost Here!

Well, I guess we have a *little* bit longer until Christmas is here! But with all the christmas card and present ideas on all the blogs, I've just felt really inspired to get an early start on everything.

I made a couple of these little 3x3 cards to use as gift tags. The main image was colored using chalks and a blender pen. I stamped the background image in Versamark because I love the subtle look it gives the image!I think this is a great little card to include with any Christmas present. What do you think?

For my Sister

This a beautiful card I created for my sister. I love this. I used one of the $1 alphabet stamp sets from Michael's for the focal image and just repeated it over and over. I think it turned out really well. What do you think? The "A" is also from that set.

The bottom piece is stamped in Versamark. I just LOVE this look. And this color combination is so beautiful and feminine. Perfect for my little sister!
The buttons are tied with Rustic Jute Twine and the border is punched with an EK success punch. I use this thing all the time! Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Happy Birthday to my Mom!

For my mom's birthday I made her a little photo album with recent pictures. This wrapping is great though! I put the photo album in a box and covered it with some cardstock that I stamped with a couple images. The stars are from an old Stamping UP Christmas set that I have and I can't even remember where the cute little "to my mom" sentiment came from.
The tag is covered and sanded chipboard that I embossed a "Happy Birthday" sentiment on.
I can't wait for her to unwrap this surprise and hope she likes it!

Have Faith!

So this is my FAVORITE card I've made in quite a while. I'm loving the color combination and this patterned paper...FABULOUS! I've been using this patterned paper from Making Memories almost nonstop since I got it!

I used the patterned paper (can't remember the maker, shame on me, I know!) and covered a chipboard piece to make the frame. Then I distressed the edges and added a little gold for some glitz. I did the same for the oval inner piece and then stamped the sentiment on it. The inside piece is attached with foam dots for some dimension.I just love the muted colors and how well the different patterened papers play off each other, even though they aren't from the same set!
And of course I had to use my scalloped edge punch and some Rustic Jute Twine from PTI! I feel like I use twine all the time; but I really do just love the rustic look of it.

Here in the corner is this adorable little dove & heart image. So cute and tiny. Really coordinates with the elegant Faith theme, in my opinion. What do you think? I got this clear stamp set from the Michael's dollar section....LOVE IT! What good deal have you found recently? LET ME KNOW! :)
