Happy February!

Wow. February 1st already! Where has this year GONE?! I feel like it's still early December or something. Not that I'm complaining. I'm thrilled that it's 2010. I know this is going to be a year to remember.
For today's card I used spring moss to shake up the traditional valentines colors. The background paper is, of course, Anna Griffin. I seem to gravitate to her papers quite often.
This card has glitter, twine, buttons, rounded corners, and awesome patterned paper.
Hope you like it!

Patchwork Valentine

Can you tell that I've been practicing with my sewing machine?! Haha. I love the look of stitching on cards but I still need to get the hang of it. I like how this card turned out though.
The patchwork of coordinating papers is fun and then the pop of spring moss green makes it an unexpected valentine card. I'm sure that I'll be making more of these and just changing the colors up for the season or whatever.
This is a little 4x4 sized card. I hope you like it!

Hopefully I'll be able to post pretty regularly now that we have a brand new computer! It's been tons of fun playing with all the new elements of our mac... I think I'm in love with iphoto!

Bee Mine

Here are two more Valentine's Day cards that I made recently. In three hours in my craft room, I whipped out six cards! That is awesome for me because usually it takes me an entire sitting to get one card done.
Anyway, this card has a shape that I don't normally work with. It happened by accident; I scored the kraft cardstock in the wrong spot and one side was shortened by an inch. But I didn't want to waste lovely kraft since I am down to just a couple sheets. (I need to get some more before I run out completely! That would be bad. Very bad!)
So I just added some Bitty Dot patterned paper on the inside and some heart paper on the outside. The heart was cut using my Cricut and hangs over the edge of the front but is even with the backside.
The sentiment was stamped in Staz-On onto PTI Stamper's Select White cardstock. Then I colored them in using a blender pen and SU chalks. With the glittered bee wings, I love how this little image turned out! :)
This next card uses the same technique on the image. I used a punch to round the corners of the polka dot paper and just put a strip of glitter behind the image to make it pop. There's also dimensionals behind it so it stands up.
I think this simple little 3x3 is my favorite of the two. But I like them both a lot! On both cards, all the edges of the kraft were inked in Fresh snow.

XOXO

There's just a month or so until Valentine's Day so I started making some cute little cards with that theme.
This is a $1 stamp that I picked up from Michael's the other day. And this patterned paper... I'm in LOVE with it! It's Anna Griffin. I've been really careful planning the cuts and reusing the scraps because I just want to use this paper to death! :) The rhinestones came in a pack with a couple other colors, also $1 from Michael's.
For this second card I stamped the background with another $1 stamp that I got from there the other day. I also strung some buttons onto twine and wrapped it around the bottom of the card. It was quick and simple and I like how it turned out.
In the middle of the hearts on those "O's" I used a glue pen to add some glitter on both cards. It's hard to see in the picture but looks cute in person. Both of these cards are 4x4 size. All the edges of the kraft are inked with Fresh Snow.

I'll be back with more Valentine's cards soon! I'm on a roll with these colors and stamps.
