a new love & old scraps.

Do these flower petals look familiar? They are the scraps from the baby shower invites from my previous post!
I didn't start off planning on saving them to make something new but they were all sitting on my table looking like little petals or leaves. I couldn't bear to throw away 40 little petals so I made them into these cute little flowers.
All the cards use the same design and I just changed up the colors a little bit.
The chocolate petals look fabulous with all the color combinations. But I would have to say that my favorite is the berry sorbet, dark chocolate, and spring moss below.
This last picture is my favorite. It shows the sentiment, flower up close and personal, and the beautiful background flourish.
Would you believe that this is my first time using rustic cream from PTI? Holy cow, I think it may just beat kraft out as my very favorite paper EVER. Hard to choose though!

sweet baby invites.

I am so happy to share these baby shower invitations with you! And I am finally all finished with all 40 invites!
It was definitely the hand-cutting every single card base that took the longest. I also added glitter strips, Versamark backgrounds, Cricut shapes, threaded buttons, and all the trimmings!
If you have any questions about these, let me know.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

sneak peek.

Here's a little sneakie peek at something I'm working on for a friend.

Hope to finish with them by the end of the week (or as soon as my PTI order arrives!) :)

Can't wait to show you the final product!

sunny flower.

I think I'm in love with this flower. It's so sunny and sparkly that it just makes me happy to look at it. I'm getting this card in the mail asap for my little sister!
This is a new stamp set that I just got. I stamped the image and colored it in using an aqua pen and chalks. Then I added the glitter with a glue pen and cut the image out.

This was a quick and easy card that I hope you enjoy! Hope the week is starting off well for everyone.

Not Quite Monochromatic

Here's a 4x4 card that I made recently that again uses my sewing machine.
My (amazing!) machine does this decorative stitching without much assistance from me. I used white thread on white cardstock and was going to go with a monochromatic theme but then changed my mind.
I like the pop of pink and black on this card front. This was super easy to make and I think I'll be making more cards similar to this. I whipped this little baby out in under 5 minutes. Definitely a quickie card!

PTI Birthday Card #2

Hello again!! I squeezed in enough time to make a second entry for the contest over on Nichole's blog.
This cute little digi download is from Dawn McVey. I'm in absolute love with every single thing she creates and this color scheme that I chose today reminds me of that. It's bold and bright and I love it!
The little label has glittered spirals on it but they didn't show up too well in the photo. I also glittered the outside edge of the embellishment.

Sorry the picture quality isn't the greatest! It is wellllll past sunset here.
Have a great night!

Happy Birthday, PTI!

All this week, Papertrey Ink is celebrating their third anniversary. Nichole Heady has TONS of fun challenges and prizes on her blog. So play along!
My card today uses a free download from Niki Estes. At first I wasn't sure about the colors since the cute little present was already colored for me. So this forced me out of my comfort zone a little and I LOVE IT. These colors are gorgeous together and I just like how everything turned out.
The patterned paper is PTI Bitty Dots, the sentiment is from Mega Mixed Messages, and the buttons are aqua mist vintage from (of course) PTI!

I'm already so excited for tonight's post and of course all the countdown and new releases coming soon!

Have a great night. I'm going to try and get a couple more cards finished before the deadline.

Happy February!

Wow. February 1st already! Where has this year GONE?! I feel like it's still early December or something. Not that I'm complaining. I'm thrilled that it's 2010. I know this is going to be a year to remember.
For today's card I used spring moss to shake up the traditional valentines colors. The background paper is, of course, Anna Griffin. I seem to gravitate to her papers quite often.
This card has glitter, twine, buttons, rounded corners, and awesome patterned paper.
Hope you like it!
