Hello, blog world! Here are two Christmas cards that were publishing rejects:

This first one is very simple. Heat embossing on Scarlet Jewel cardstock and some simple half circles sewn on the side. Not my favorite so no biggie that it didn't make the cut.

This second one though I really like. The colors are fun and different for a Christmas card. That patterned paper is from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop line. (Still in love with that whole line!) The stamp is a wooden one and it took many, many tries to get it lined up perfectly. I love the impression rubber gives but clear stamps are SO much easier to line up!

It's Been too Long!

Wow. I can not believe how LONG it's been since I last posted! FOREVER!

Been busy with life: moving, family visiting, holidays, computer problems, everything.

But now I'm back and I have my last Christmas card post for you:

I made a few of these cards last minute because I ran out but they turned out to be one of my favorites! The base I bought on sale last year after Christmas and same with the Merry Christmas patterned paper. I just stamped a simple Christmas tree on the paper, inked the edges and attached it to the card base.

My favorite part of the card is the glittered border! I used scor-tape to attach the Doodlebug glitter. I think it adds a nice touch. My mom called after she received it and the glitter didn't budge AT ALL! Yay!

I will definitely try to get back to regularly scheduled postings! :)

Here's More...

Using the design from my previous post I made a dozen more cards! I changed the colors and themes, some are Christmas, fun and purple, brown, whatever, and cranked out a ton of cards yesterday.

This picture isn't all that great but there are fifteen cards here that I added to my basket! I can't wait to start sending some of these out. I already gave one to my husband for his birthday today. They fit pretty well in an envelope and won't need extra postage or anything.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Thanksgiving! I am so thankful for so many things...too many to list!

Sweet Christmas

I made a couple Christmas cards with these soft and sweet colors. It's a really simple design of five trees on white with a mat behind them. On the mat layer there are flourishes stamped in Versamark.

I just could not get a really good picture today! So hopefully you will take my word for it that these cards are gorgeous.

Gift tags

So in getting ready for the holidays, I made a bunch of cute little gift tags. I knew what design I wanted but I couldn't decide on a color combination. There is a red snowflake with ripe avocado over it, smokey shadow with black, pink and red, and aqua mist with brown.

The aqua mist with brown is my favorite tag and I ended up making quite a few of them. I can't wait to add these to little Christmas presents this year!

Copycat

So I completely copied this card from this blog. And I wasn't even planning on it but when I went to the craft store yesterday I saw a package of these glittery blue card bases on clearance and Charlene's cute cards were what came to mind!

I made a set of four of these and I can't wait to send them out for Christmas! I didn't have any holiday sentiments that were the right size so I just had to use a generic one. But I think that it works for the season. Hope you like!

Challenge!

This card is for the 2 sketches 4 you challenge #37. It's the first time that I've tried this sketch challenge.

There's a couple vellum layers with glittered edges so that they stand out more. The background has snowflakes stamped in Versamark. I distressed the edges of the circles too.

I like the rhinestone on the 'joy' sentiment.

Christmas Again!

This is a quick and easy card that I made yesterday. The presents were cut out of patterned paper from The Paper Studio. It was only ten cents a sheet on sale at Hobby Lobby! Heck yes!

I just cut out a bunch of presents and adhered them to the card base. For the middle present I used foam dimensionals and added some rhinestones for some sparkle.

The velvet ribbon adds softness. The sentiment is from Stamping UP! and I think it's the perfect font and style for this card. And then I put some brads on the bottom to balance it out.

This was a very simple, very fast and very cheap card to make! Hope you are all having a great weekend.

Simple Christmas Card

This card has it all: glitter, heat embossing, ribbon, stamped sentiment... and it is still a simple, simple, simple card!

A Hybrid Card!

This card that I made is three old Christmas cards recycled and remade into one fresh, new card!

First there is the red overlay. It was originally a card cover and it came with the cute little hole already punched out and just waiting to be transformed! The mitten focal image was punched from another card front using my handy two inch circle punch. The punch that I own is the kind with the handles that you grasp. I really like it.
The third piece is the green strip of glittery flourishes. Underneath that I stamped flourishes in Versamark to coordinate. Have you recycled any cards lately?

Christmas! It's Almost Here!

Well, I guess we have a *little* bit longer until Christmas is here! But with all the christmas card and present ideas on all the blogs, I've just felt really inspired to get an early start on everything.

I made a couple of these little 3x3 cards to use as gift tags. The main image was colored using chalks and a blender pen. I stamped the background image in Versamark because I love the subtle look it gives the image!I think this is a great little card to include with any Christmas present. What do you think?
