hey friends.

Hey guys! Talk about a long break from blogging. Here's a little card that was rejected for publication. But I think it's pretty cute so I'm sharing with you!

That tan patterned paper is from PTI's new Library Ledger pack. I just got it a couple weeks ago and I'm really loving the soft patterns.

Anyway, hope the week is going well for everyone! I decided to link up to the Moxie Fab Challenge. We'll see how that goes :)

sweet baby invites.

I am so happy to share these baby shower invitations with you! And I am finally all finished with all 40 invites!
It was definitely the hand-cutting every single card base that took the longest. I also added glitter strips, Versamark backgrounds, Cricut shapes, threaded buttons, and all the trimmings!
If you have any questions about these, let me know.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Christmas

I made a couple Christmas cards with these soft and sweet colors. It's a really simple design of five trees on white with a mat behind them. On the mat layer there are flourishes stamped in Versamark.
I just could not get a really good picture today! So hopefully you will take my word for it that these cards are gorgeous.

Challenge!

This card is for the 2 sketches 4 you challenge #37. It's the first time that I've tried this sketch challenge.

There's a couple vellum layers with glittered edges so that they stand out more. The background has snowflakes stamped in Versamark. I distressed the edges of the circles too.
I like the rhinestone on the 'joy' sentiment.

Dream

Here is my latest card:
All the edges are inked in gold but it's hard to tell in these pictures. The flourish is stamped in Versamark.
The text paper is actually a page from an old steamy romance novel that I was going to give to Goodwill but decided instead to tear pages out and try different techniques on them. For this, I crumpled it up and then ran some distress ink over it. Then I added the gold ink.
I used dimensionals to adhere the 'dream' panel to the text paper. I think this is an okay card but it's not one of my favorites and I can't really decide why. Do you ever have cards like that? You think they could be better but you don't know how? I think this is one of my put-on-the-bottom-of-the-stash cards!

Mini Loaf of Love!

I've been on a baking kick lately. Making delicious chocolate covered macaroons, cutting out sugar cookies, baking brownies... it's non-stop! So today I wanted to share my baking with my coworkers and I decided to make banana nut bread in mini tins to give them!
I decided to put a Happy Thanksgiving sentiment on them because now that it is officially October, the holidays will be upon us before we know it!

I used this amaaaazing Betty Crocker recipe that calls for buttermilk. It's the secret ingredient that keeps the bread so moist and delicious! I doubled the recipe and came out with 12 mini loaves. I needed 8 for my coworkers and one for the neighbor so that left hubby and me with leftovers! Yessss!

I was browsing at Hobby Lobby today and found this patterned paper on clearance. I was really inspired by the fall colors... and of course it was on sale! I was also inspired by Dawn McVey's packaging idea found here. Pretty much everything she does inspires me but I just loved this quick and easy way she dressed up a loaf of yummy, homemade bread!

The sentiment is from Stamping Up and is stamped onto PTI cardstock. I used foam dimensionals to adhere the finished circle onto the paper strip. And of course I had to stamp a flourish or two in Versamark onto the cardstock. Then added the rustic jute twine, also from PTI, and it was complete!
I think I want to make zucchini nut bread next! Who knows though?! I could change my mind again tomorrow. What yummy things have you baked lately? Or are you planning on trying a new recipe soon?
I hope my coworkers like these! I'll let you know!

A Hybrid Card!

This card that I made is three old Christmas cards recycled and remade into one fresh, new card!
First there is the red overlay. It was originally a card cover and it came with the cute little hole already punched out and just waiting to be transformed! The mitten focal image was punched from another card front using my handy two inch circle punch. The punch that I own is the kind with the handles that you grasp. I really like it.
The third piece is the green strip of glittery flourishes. Underneath that I stamped flourishes in Versamark to coordinate. Have you recycled any cards lately?
I love how this final card compilation turned out! Let me know what you think and leave a comment or two!

Christmas! It's Almost Here!

Well, I guess we have a *little* bit longer until Christmas is here! But with all the christmas card and present ideas on all the blogs, I've just felt really inspired to get an early start on everything.

I made a couple of these little 3x3 cards to use as gift tags. The main image was colored using chalks and a blender pen. I stamped the background image in Versamark because I love the subtle look it gives the image!I think this is a great little card to include with any Christmas present. What do you think?

For my Sister

This a beautiful card I created for my sister. I love this. I used one of the $1 alphabet stamp sets from Michael's for the focal image and just repeated it over and over. I think it turned out really well. What do you think? The "A" is also from that set.

The bottom piece is stamped in Versamark. I just LOVE this look. And this color combination is so beautiful and feminine. Perfect for my little sister!
The buttons are tied with Rustic Jute Twine and the border is punched with an EK success punch. I use this thing all the time! Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Happy Birthday to my Mom!

For my mom's birthday I made her a little photo album with recent pictures. This wrapping is great though! I put the photo album in a box and covered it with some cardstock that I stamped with a couple images. The stars are from an old Stamping UP Christmas set that I have and I can't even remember where the cute little "to my mom" sentiment came from.
The tag is covered and sanded chipboard that I embossed a "Happy Birthday" sentiment on.
I can't wait for her to unwrap this surprise and hope she likes it!

Short & Sweet

Here's another little 3x3 card that I made. I really wanted to use glitter somehow!
The edge of the heart was dipped into a glue pad and then into some Cararra Marble white glitter. It looks much cuter in person!
I love the blue button! It's one I found in my stash and it coordinates so well with the patterned paper!
And of course I had to use my Papertrey Ink Rustic Twine! I love that stuff! I also stamped the main "my friend" image with Versamark. I'm loving that look right now.
Thanks for stopping by and checking things out. Leave a comment or something so I know that *someone* besides me is reading this thing! Ha :)

Congrats! A Baby!

Some wonderful news: a great friend of mine is having a baby!
Here's the card I made for her:

I love the color combination!

This is the first time I've ever used Versamark to stamp an image on the background. Shocking, I know! I really love how this card turned out!
